Hey y’all! My name is Samanta Salvati and I’m currently based in Brooklyn, New York.

Growing up in NYC, I moved through life quickly. City life will teach you to put a pep in your step, IYKYK. As a young adult, I never stopped to take in my surroundings or paused to speak to people. There was always somewhere to be, and time was always ticking. Until one day, everything just suddenly stopped moving, and for the first time I had nowhere to be and nothing to do. That’s when the universe literally threw a camera in my lap and 15 years later, I’m still holding it.

I started as a street photographer and it taught me to not just take a photo, but to capture moments that make you feel something. A moment that you cannot replicate. Moments that you wouldn’t notice, unless you are still, observing and being a part of that moment.

That perspective is what I carry into my event photography today. I don’t just document what’s happening — I look for the in-between moments. The quiet glances, the laughter that happens off to the side, the little interactions that might otherwise go unnoticed. Because those are the moments that tell the real story - the quiet, fleeting ones that end up meaning the most, long after the day is over.

xoxo,

Sammie
